More About Kat, Andre, and the ‘Broadview 6’:
In October 2025, Kat Abughazaleh, her field director and friend Andre Martin, and four others were federally indicted for their advocacy and protest against ICE. Prosecutors claimed their participation in a peaceful protest outside the Broadview ICE facility amounted to a “spontaneous conspiracy.”
In May 2026, just one week before trial, prosecutors dismissed the remaining charges with prejudice. After nine months of stress, public scrutiny, and legal expenses, we’re ready to celebrate with the community that got us through it.
So What Is KAPOW?
Most political campaigns show up asking for your vote, your money, and your trust. Then they disappear.
KAPOW is built on a different idea. Founded by Kat and Andre, we’re creating community infrastructure that lasts beyond election cycles through mutual aid, civic engagement, educational programming, and public events.
This concert celebrates a hard-fought victory and helps support the next chapter of that work.
