Opal Vinopal is the solo project from songwriter/guitarist, Mike Vinopal, best known as the founder of his funky rock ‘n soul band, Local Motive. Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Vinopal was immersed in a musical family with his dad and uncles often gathering around the family piano with guitars to harmonize to their favorite Beatles' songs. His songs draw on the inspiration provided by this upbringing, mixed together with all the turbulent emotions he’s navigated throughout his adult life, creating a deeply vulnerable catalog of solo material.

2025 brought the collection of music entitled SALVAGE SONGS & new songs for 2026 as well, unrestricted by genre labels or the desire to fit into certain categories. Vinopal’s only desire is to continue sharing empathy-soaked compositions and collaborations of his, as often as he can, for as long as he can.
When you think of a singer-songwriter, who comes to mind?

Nathan Graham says it probably isn’t somebody who looks like he does, and he wants to change that.

Born and raised in Chicago, Graham meshes South Side Blues with Nashville Americana, beginning his career backing blues singers at famous haunts like Buddy Guy’s Legends and Kingston Mines. He spent a decade as a guitar-for-hire before picking up a mic to tell his own stories on the stage.

Soulful and steady, Graham’s music offers a raw introspective of the human condition that’s both painful and comforting. His guitar conveys heartbreak, lyrics tell stories of regret, but his rich vocal delivery offers the remedy.

Having brought his songs on international tours with both major label and indie acts, Graham is challenging the notion of what it means to be a singer-songwriter. He’s driving inclusivity within the genre, and he hopes to evoke a sense of understanding in the process.

“I’m writing about universal experiences,” he says. “I’m writing music to connect my story to yours, show you all that we have in common, and maybe help both of us feel less alone.”

Stellar debut…[Graham] manages to blend Soul, Rock, and Americana into an irresistible sound… This is a record that’s begging to be heard live.” -GLIDE

“A powerhouse singer with a deep drive to connect, the Chicago-born-and-raised Graham tenderly wraps his fears and anxieties in velvety arrangements infused with a wide range of influences from rock and folk to soul and blues.”
-NO DEPRESSION

“Saint of Second Chances announces Graham as a songwriter and performer fully realized and ready to deliver salve-like anthems for trying times.”
-NO DEPRESSION

“He’s dropped three sterling, catchy singles that seem sure to catapult him to stardom: ‘Pride,’ ‘Somebody Else,’ and ‘Right One’ create a warm blend of blues, soul, and Americana-influenced classic rock that sounds perfect for a road-trip car radio or an afternoon bar jukebox.” -CHICAGO READER

“Graham clearly emerges as a singer-songwriter with a gift for melodic, infectious hooks that blend soul, pop, and even country. It’s refreshing; he’s not the cut-from-the-same-cloth type that often emanates from Nashville or Austin. His guitar is present but clearly in a supporting role as Graham’s rich, deep voice, and the songs themselves assume the focus.” -MAKING A SCENE

“Graham doubtlessly has a promising future as a songwriter. He’s certainly mastered the melody and hooks already and is blessed with soulful, expressive vocals.” -MAKING A SCENE
